BOXYCHARM | May 2017 Edition

Allowing yourself to try something new without you wanting it, well… it’s a good thing. This is one of the perks from subscribing to a subscription box. This month’s box is definitely a box where most of them items I don’t normally use or never thought I would use. However, I must say this month is very similar to last ones. The product theme is almost the same (read last month’s post here.). Even though they are alike, these ones are not the ordinary everyday things, at least not for me, that I would use or purchase. Here is what I got: Highlight & Contour Palette by IBY Beauty (full size $40.00): the palette reminds me a lot of the Kat Von D’s or Anastasia Beverley Hill’s contour palettes. It has 6 matte shades, they are smooth and pigmented. The packaging is super nice, it almost has a luxury feel and it also comes with a large good quality mirror. I personally would never use matte to highlight, but at least I get to try it! Round Contour …

Dior Lip Glow Colour Reviver Balm Review

Revive Your Natural Lips with Dior’s Addict Lip Glow?

Talking about magic, you all! Last month, I got this wonderful gift, something that I’ve never experienced before and never heard of before! This Dior Addict Lip Glow is very magical and I think it is worth to share with you what I have to say about this lipstick. The Dior Addict Lip Glow is a balm to hydrate your lips and revive your natural lip colour. The line comes in 2 shades, in sheer natural pink and sheer coral pink. The one I received is in sheer natural pink. When you apply it, it gives a very beautiful and natural shine.

Emerald nail art for May Birthstone Beauty

May Birthstone Beauty: Emerald | #NOTD

When I think of May’s birthstone colour, emerald, the first thing that comes to my mind is a magical forest. With lots of fairy lights, magical animals and mysterious spirits. The magical forest also leads to a painting. I got no idea why, but I just associated to it. Maybe because a painting is one of the ways to bring our imagination to life. Ah, you see, magical forest > imagination > painting? Yes, I know you get what I mean 😉

Birthstone Beauty Emerald May Edition

Birthstone Beauty: May Edition

Ahhh May! My favourite month and such a busy month too: Melissa’s Bday, my own bday (YAAS), and the blog’s bday (see our exciting giveaway)!! I was so excited to create the makeup look using this month’s birthstone because I looove emerald green! Also, the emerald is a symbol of youth and rebirth, and promises good luck. What’s not to love about emeralds? More info here. Image from here. After creating “crazy” looks for the past few Birthstone Beauty looks, I decided to create a more “wearable” look for you guys! So no green lips, and no green blush 😉 I went for a very easy green smokey eye, which I paired with glossy burgundy lips. This look reminds me of autumn, and even though summer hasn’t arrived yet, I have to admit that I long for september and its long, sunny days and cool nights. Eyes: I applied MakeUpForEver’s eyeshadow in “ME304” all over the lid. I then applied L’Oréal’s Ultra concentrated eyeshadow in “Emerald Lame”. In the crease and as a transition colour, I used MAC’s eyeshadow …

MakeUp Eraser Makeup Remover Cloth

The MakeUp Eraser: a Life-Changing Product! | Review

Being a makeup junkie isn’t always good for the environment: wearing a full face of makeup on a daily basis means that those cottons pads are piling up real quick in your trash can… And this breaks my heart  😦  I had been looking for a more ecological solution to makeup remover and cotton pads and I have finally found it: the MakeUp Eraser!! This 38cm x 18cm (7.25″ x 15.5″) piece of cloth is truly magical!! It has changed my beauty routine for the best, and I will never go back to cotton pads and makeup remover! No more harsh chemicals and no more waste! The Eraser comes in two colours: black or bright pink. It has two sides: one for removing the makeup and cleaning the face, and the other for exfoliating. Isn’t that great? All you have to do is wet a portion of the cloth with warm water and gently rub it in a circular motion to remove makeup. Oh, and did I mention that it removes e-ve-ry thing? Waterproof makeup …

Birthstone Beauty April Edition

Birthstone Beauty: April Edition

Hi loves! Wow, I can’t believe how LATE this post is… And can you believe it was really close to never being created? April has by far been the craziest month in my life this year, with the end of semester, having to do more hours at work, going to Vegas (want to know what I bought to Vegas? click here!), and of course, being VERY sick after all this stress… Well, here it is: the birthstone beauty makeup look for the month of April, inspired by the diamond! This birthstone comes in an array of colours, but the coloured ones are more rare than the colourless ones. More info here. Image from here. For this month’s look, I wanted to create something very shimmery, but not too unnatural. The looked came out very fresh-looking, almost bridal, but with a definitely futuristic edge to it. The secret to this look is a natural-looking and glowy foundation, shimmery eyeshadows and “wet looking” brows. Reminder: the Birthstone Beauty series is meant to inspire you to play around with …

sephora plush luxe lash review

Doll up with Sephora’s Plush Luxe False Lash

I am not a huge fan of false lashes but these ones, seriously, got me in love with lashes! The reason why I don’t like to wear false lashes is because I can’t get used to the weight of falsies, the way it blocks my view and the discomfort the band gives me. So yes, I am quite picky on falsies but at the same time, I’m always trying to find THE pair that avoids my pet peeves for falsies. I always wanted to try those Velour lashes that the internet has been raving about. However, by looking at the price at Velour’s.. I don’t feel paying that amount of money for something I might not like in the end. So here, while browsing, I found these Sephora Luxe False Lash in “Plush”.
