Hello dear readers, This is not the usual beauty review or haul but please read this carefully as it is very important (and exciting!) 🙂 As you may have read recently, Melissa has left the blog which means that it is only me (Marika) running it from now on. YAAAAYY!! 😀 Advertisements
For those who don't know, there's an iPad and a skin tone detector at the Sephora store for you to determine your skin colour. After scanning your face with that device, the clever Sephora will save your result into your account and match you with all the possible foundations on their site. Hurray for technology for making our shopping life easier than ever and saving my lazy ass too! In fact, I personally do not like to shop at the store, I feel too overwhelmed and shopping online is a lot more resourceful! Without doing test swatches at the Sephora store, I directly ordered a foundation from their site to see whether the Color IQ is really that intelligent.
Today, May 21st 2017, the blog hit 2 years old!

Montreal beauty and lifestyle blog. Happy new year! #2017
Hi all! The Melrika team, Melissa and Marika, is wishing you happy holidays!! We wish you a lot of warmth, good health, and success in the coming year; and we hope that 2017 will be a SMASHING year for all of you! Whether you celebrate or not, we think it’s important to take a moment for ourselves, to think back on the year that’s almost behind us, and simply enjoy what’s happened (and maybe anticipate what is to come)! The holidays are the perfect time to treat ourselves, our family, and our friends, as well as being thankful for what we have. In other words: spread the love! Boy… the year has passed so fast and we still remember the day we set our 2016 resolution lists! Looking back on this year, the team is very thankful for the progress that the blog made Without our visitors, readers, family and friends’ support, we wouldn’t be here today, and you are the ones who always keep us going, so thank you for that. We saw a …
In the blogosphere, there can be unhealthy competition and hatred sometimes, but at Melrika, we strongly believe that supporting each other is the most beautiful and meaningful act bloggers can do for one another. For this reason, we were extremely proud and happy to be invited to the launch party of Boucle Magazine‘s first paper magazine earlier this week! ❤ A little background Boucle is a francophone blog that was founded in 2012 whose mission is to promote positive messages about issues that everyone faces such as body image, self-esteem, etc. Their goal is to help people love themselves the way they are, no matter their weight, height, colour of their skin, etc. Boucle promotes a message of diversity that includes anyone and everyone and has a very refreshing point of view on themes such as beauty, mental health, sexuality, etc.
Now that you know all about the magic of Shop Miss A (click here for review of the site), let us tell you more precisely about the products we ordered. This is what Melissa got: 2 individual eyeshadow from Princessa. One in a warm brown #836 and cool taupe brown “Clay” #819. When I received them, I found out it comes with a 2 ends applicator which is pretty cool for the price I paid. The packaging of the shadows is absolutely very cute and good quality 2 metallic liquid and pencil all-in-one After Ego from Kleancolour in silver and gold. At first, I thought it was only liquid liners. When I received them, I found out there’s a retractable pencil together! Surprise! 3 makeup brushes from e.l.f: blending brush, eyeshadow brush and a smudge brush. A matte & shimmer duo palette from Kleancolor in 02 Alluring Touch. Needed an affordable palette with neon colours. It would be nice to create a neon colour look sometimes without wasting money on expensive shadows! A nail clipper. Yes, …

Nominate 11 other blogs with under 200 followers and ask them 11 questions (let them know you nominated them, tag them in your post or tell them in some way!) 11 Facts about the blog and the co-founders, Melissa & Marika: The blog is run by 2 Montreal girls, Melissa & Marika. The blog started by a random conversation about social media and YouTube.
