2 words: Taco. Week. (screams of joy!!) Just when we thought Montreal couldn’t get cooler… Surprise! Hi Taco Week, we’ve been expecting you 😉 The first edition of Taco Week promises to be awesome (just like tacos, really), and is a great way to highlight Mexican cuisine and culture. From October 15 to 22, you can eat delicious tacos at super affordable prices: each of the 12 participating restaurants offer a special meal for 10$ or less! The food event is taking place in Montreal, Québec and Toronto, so make sure you don’t miss out on this deliciously cheesy meal if you are in town! This year again, the Poutine Week takes place from February 1 to 7 to warm our hearts and remind us how delicious our national meal is. And with over 60 participating restaurants in Montreal, this year will be bigger than ever! Why? Because the event is now international. Rejoyce foodies: the Happening Gourmand is back for the 9th edition! Wooohooo! January may be a cold month, but this event is the perfect thing to keep our hearts warm this winter. This year, from January 7 to February 7, 8 restaurants in the Old-Port are offering a delicious table d’hôte for 22, 25 or 29$. Check them out:
Hello fellow foodies! Here is another food event post about what is happening around town! This time, it is located in the South Shore of Montreal, Brossard’s famous outlet, Quartier Dix30. If you didn’t know why Dix30 is so special, the outlet is Canada’s first lifestyle outlet and designed to emulate the downtown style of Montreal in the suburb area. Really cool place to hang out! 😉 So this event, Janvier a la Carte, is an event with participating restaurants in Dix30 offer a Table d’Hôte (3 course menu) ranging from 20, 30 or 40$. Very similar to the MTL A Table and the Gourmand event. It will be running from January 2nd to the 31st.
Looking for a fun and romantic place to bring your date? Modavie is a great option! This restaurant, located in the heart of Montreal’s Old Port, is well-known for its delicious French cuisine (think mussels & fries, steak frites, lamb chops, etc), its extensive wine menu and the live jazz that is played every night by local bands. Despite its popularity, neither Melissa nor I had ever tried the restaurant. We decided that since it was MTL à Table, the timing was perfect and we had no reasons not to try it out!
